    Teperberg holds the dual honors of being Israel’s oldest and fourth-largest winery. Founded in 1870, Tepeberg was originally a resource for cheap and overly sweet wines, but has since reestablished itself as a modern facility that produces a wide range of highly acclaimed bottles.

    Currently located in the Judean Lowlands of the Samson Valley, Teperberg draws upon six generations of winemaking experience to uphold its vision of remaining at the forefront of Israel’s wine culture. It produces over four million bottles a year, including a number of extremely affordable wines as well as a range of high end blends and varietals.

    Outstanding Reds from Teperberg Wine

    Teperberg Wine creates Reserve Merlot using the grapes from a single small vineyard in the Judean Hills. It features full-bodied aromas of currant and cocoa with intricate flavors of wet earth and raspberry. Its luxurious texture and supple tannins make this wine an excellent choice for cellaring or immediate serving.

    From a similarly elite vineyard in Ella Valley, Teperberg Wine produces the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. A deep purple color and a nose of crème de cassis, vanilla, and red cherry combined with a palate of wet stone and tobacco leaf make this a classic Cabernet Sauvignon.

    For a more affordable, but still flavorful option, Teperberg Winery offers the Collage White and the Collage Red. The 2011 Collage White consists of 55% Chardonnay and 45% Semillon for a mellow and approachable taste with aromas of apple, pineapple, and honey. With flavors of citrus peel and white flowers, this wine is light and fruity, ideal for serving at summer picnics or alongside cheese platters.

    The 2011 Collage Red combines 80% Cabernet Sauvignon with 20% Petite Sirah. It is bold and intense, offering a firm tannic structure and a smoky oaky finish. With a palate of black cherry and lavender and aromas of cassis, forest floor, and violet, this dry red blend perfectly complements high-quality beef or sharp cheeses.
