Shiloh Wine is renowned the world over. Historically, the biblical city of Shiloh was the religious capital of Israel for 300 years before the first Temple was built in Jerusalem. At one point, it was the center of Israelite worship. Today, Shiloh’s mountainous geography and warm, arid climate makes it so well-suited for vineyards. Around 800 meters above sea level, the rich sedimentary fragments of limestone and clay found in Shiloh’s soil makes it perfect for grape growing, a fact reflected in the large number of biblical-age era winepresses found around the region to this day. Then, as now, Shiloh wine was and remains among the highest quality in the world.

    Shiloh Winery: Universally Recognized

Founded by Dr. Mayer Chomer to take advantage of the region’s pristine grape growing climate, Shiloh Winery is currently headed by Amichai Luria, a master winemaker famous for his use of blending to create exquisite and exciting new varieties of wine. Rather than merely using blending to burn through leftover grapes, these new creations are only produced from remarkable harvests to produce unique and extraordinary finished products. Luria’s work in creating superb blends has earned Shiloh Winery international recognition as well as numerous gold medals in international wine competitions.

    Shiloh Wines and Blends

Among the blends that have made Shiloh famous is Shiloh Winery’s flagship product, Mosaic. A remarkable dark purple blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Verdot and Petite Sirah, Mosaic is the result of each varietal aging separately in their own French oak barrel, then aging an additional six months after being blended together. It has a subtly fruity aroma with notes of cacao, coffee and vanilla, while the palate is reminiscent of black fruits with a balanced acidity for a refreshing, sustained finish. Another popular Shiloh wines blend is the deep red Legend, mixing Shiraz, Petit Sirah, Petit Verdot and Merlot for a full bodied, bold and complex taste.

Not to be missed is Shiloh’s limited reserve series, the Secret Reserve. The Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Merlot all won coveted gold medals and 1st place finishes in Israel’s “Golden Vine” competition. Sample all three for yourself at outstanding prices! Shiloh wines and their premium blends are an extravagant exercise in winemaking bravura that must be tasted to be believed.
