Whereas Dalton's Alma Cabernet-Merlot blend is one of Israel's finest examples of a Bordeaux-style wine, Dalton Alma SMV 2009 applies the same quality obsession to a Rhone-style blend of Shiraz (82%), Mourvedre (12%) and Viognier (6%). Each component of the blend was vinified separately to coax out its unique characteristics, then carefully blended to ensure the perfect harmony. The resulting wine is deliciously earthy, with aromatic notes of leather and licorice. Flavors include wild raspberry, Chinese five-spice, and barnyard carrying through the long finish. Perfect alongside a hearty winter stew, veal osso buco, or a Moroccan lamb tagine.

Alma Shiraz is a full-bodied wine showing rich earthy characteristics of leather and liquorice with underlying floral notes and wild raspberries. The wine is medium bodied with a rich silky finish.
