Soon after emigrating from Lithuania in 1882, Michael Chamiletzki was personally asked by Baron Edmund de Rothschild to plant and develop vineyards near Zichron Yaacov. Thus began the history of one of Israels iconic wineries. Today, winemaker Golan Tishbi continues the legacy of his great-grandfather, producing exemplary wines that prove the bright future of Israeli viticulture and winemaking. Tishbi Vineyards Emerald Riesling is a perennial favorite, with fragrances of ripe melon and nectarine. The palate shows more fresh citrus and a refreshing snap of minerality and acidity on the finish. This is a perfect accompaniment to grilled or broiled fish, soft cheese such as Brillat-Savarin or Brie, or a seasonal salad with mild dressing.
