Shiloh Barbera 2009

The Shiloh winery began operations in 2005 in a state-of-the art facility overlooking the breathtaking views of the Benjamin strip. Under the direction of master winemaker Amichai Luria, Shiloh's wines have already won an impressive array of national and international awards - establishing the brand as one of the most exciting and promising in Israeli wine. Shiloh "Shor" Barbera is Luria's triumphant demonstration of what a well-loved Italian varietal can accomplish grown in premium vineyards in the Judean Desert. After expert handling in the winery, the resulting wine displays a shiny purple-red color and aromas of dried plum with a floral edge. The palate is surprisingly bright and smooth, with red cherry and tasteful oak influences. This is a very versatile wine that will pair with many of your favorite dishes including pasta, roast meats and barbecue.
