In the hands of a truly skilled winemaker, anything goes when it comes to blending. Although not many people have tried putting Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Syrah in the same bottle, Herzog's Joe Hurliman took the chance and ended up with this unique and delicious wine. Herzog Special Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon/Zinfandel/Syrah sources each varietal from a part of California where it grows best, and creates a beautiful harmony of plum and cassis from the Cab (66%), strawberry and spice from the Zin (31%), with hints of blackberry and mint from the Syrah (3%). The whole is greater than the sum of its parts! Pair this with roast leg of lamb with mint, chicken cacciatore or fennel gratin.
A blend of berry and cherry notes, with hints of spice. The wine is complex, demonstrates a wonderful balance of flavors and complexity, and displays richness in its body and finish.
