The soft, creamy wines of Vouvray - in the Loire valley - are produced from the Chenin Blanc grape. Harvested while almost overripe, this grape produces wines which are extraordinarily soft, evoking a bouquet of acacia and a taste of quince. Though drinkable now, Vouvray can also be stored for a considerable time and is best served chilled either as an aperitif, with hors-d'oeuvres, or with desserts.
The velvety taste of Vouvray will be appreciated served chilled as an aperitif, with hors d'oeuvres or with dessert such as pastries (wine should be sweeter than dessert).
An extraordinarily soft wine, with a bouquet of acacia and a taste of quince. A sweet wine of medium body and appealing character.
