Harkham Chardonnay is sourced from ultra-ripe grapes from Australia's Hunter Valley and vinified carefully to produce a wine of great elegance and balance. Harkham's winemakers ferment half the juice in oak barrels and the other half in stainless steel tanks, then blend them to achieve the "best of both worlds": Rich tropical fruit and toasty vanilla from the barrel-fermented lot, and firm acidity with citrus and mineral notes from the unwooded lot. The marriage is harmonious, and this is a high-quality Chardonnay that will please any palate. The wine is excellent with soft cheeses, smoked meats or grilled salmon.
