It is no understantement to call ELVI a classic winery, as its family-owned tradition dates back to the year 1492. And when current winemakers Moises and Ana Cohen try their able hand and Spain's most classic wine style - Rioja - the results are sure to be unforgettable. This wine is a vivid maroon color, with the classic characteristics of the Tempranillo grape - red cherry, fresh herbs and earth. Barrel aging contributes delicious coconut flavors that reveal themselves on the finish. A perfect match with a red-sauced pasta dish, or savory Spanish tapas such as stuffed olives or fried potatoes.

    Overall:
I tasted the 2009 Elvi Mati, and there is a HUGE difference between the two. Beware, the 2010's quality in taste and body changes a lot. Also I noticed that after the bottle is open airing for a while, it starts to become sparkly. If you find the 2009 you should DEFINITELY give it a taste, because its much better than this one.
