If you have been following the wine presses lately, you have probably read about the astonishing recent ascent of Chateau Pontet-Canet from an undistinguished fifth-growth to a producer of wines that literally rival Bordeauxs greatest. Robert Parker exclaimed Nobody in Bordeaux is more attentive to detail than (owner) Alfred Tesseron at Chateau Pontet-Canet. And yet the prices of the wines have not completely shot up to the levels that critical praise like this will certainly justify soon. We are proud to offer a small amount of this world-class red wine that we hope will find its way to our most discerning customers. It is a tantalizing ruby-red color, with aromas of crushed berry and mint, plus flavors of currant, licorice, and rich vanilla. If there were ever a wine to serve with prime rib, rack of lamb or the best bone-in ribeye steak, this is it!
