Carmel Vintage is made in the style of a vintage port from Petite Sirah grapes, grown in the Judean Hills. It is fortified by the addition of grape alcohol during fermentation, and is then aged for 18 months in small French oak barrels. Carmel Vintage has a deep purple color, and an aroma of blackberry, dried fruits and bitter chocolate. It has a rich long finish. It is a wine with excellent aging potential. Tastes delicious with cheese such as brie and Camembert or bitter chocolate based desserts such as pies or cakes.
