White wine and sunshine

Ahh, spring at last, days in the park, backyard BBQ’s, the gentle breeze tickling your hair. What better way to relax and unwind than to sit around with friends and loved ones, sipping a bottle or three of crispy white wine. Here’s two of our favorite whites we know you’ll love:

Sauvignon Blanc: ranging from aggressively grassy to sweetly tropical, is an excellent choice to start the evening with. Originating from South West France, the green skinned grape get its name from the French word sauvage meaning wild, and blanc, white. Sauvignon Blanc is the perfect pairing for summer friendly appetizers like vegetables and creamy dips, or fragrant salads like a leafy Caesar or savory Greek.

Pinot Grigio: pinot, which means pine cone in French, is said to be called such the small pine cone-shaped clusters it grows in. It is a light, very crisp, dry white with a nice clean finish – best eaten with light pastas or cracker and cheese combinations. As a fairly acidic wine, avoid pairing with other acidic fruits or tomato-based recipes.

Whether you’re gathered around a picnic table, or sitting in the comfort of your air-conditioned home, our spring wine collection is light on the stomach, elegant on the tongue, and the good times are sure to roll.

Happy summer!
